Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena is a scholarship provided to students interested in pursuing higher education from recognised overseas universities. It is also known as the Andhra Pradesh Overseas Study Scholarship. The scheme was introduced by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and gets its name from the honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy. You must be a native of Andhra Pradesh and belong to an economically weaker section or backward class to be eligible for the scholarship. Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena Scholarship: Major Features
The scheme was launched to provide financial assistance in the form of tuition fees to eligible students from low-income families. Under this scheme, students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Classes (BCs), Minority, and Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) including Kapu students are eligible to apply. The students who have secured admission into any of the top 200 universities as per the latest QS World University Rankings are eligible to apply for the scholarship. It should be noted that the scholarship covers only Postgraduate and PhD courses and only MBBS courses for undergraduates.
Eligibility Criteria for the Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena Scholarship
The following are the eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship-
- Nativity: The applicant should be a native of Andhra Pradesh.
- Maximum Age: The maximum age of the applicant should be 35 years as of the date of the official public notification of the scheme.
- Family Income: The maximum family income of the applicant shall not exceed INR 8 Lakhs per annum.
- Number of Candidates from one Family: Only one candidate per family is eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Requirement of Salary Certificate: In the case of employees in the student’s family, it is mandatory to submit the salary certificate issued by the employer.

Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena Scholarship Amount
Students who have secured admission to the top 100 universities as per the QS World University Rankings are eligible for financial assistance of up to 100% of tuition fees. In case of selection in the next in 100 universities/institutions i.e., 101 to 200 ranked universities/institutions are eligible for financial assistance of 50% of tuition fees or INR 50 Lakhs, whichever is less.

- Unconditional Offer Letter from the respective Foreign University

Online Process to Apply for the Scheme-
The process to apply online is as follows-
Step 1: Visit the Official Website of Jnana Bhumi.
Step 2: Under the ‘Latest Updates’ section of the website, click on the ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena’.
Step 3: You will be directed to the registration page. After filling in the details, click on the ‘Submit’ button. After you have successfully registered, you can apply for the scheme.
Step 4: While filling out the application form, submit all the required documents in the mentioned file size and type.
Step 5: You will receive a confirmation mail and reference number after filling out the application form and submitting it. Keep it carefully for future reference.
Offline Process to Apply for the Scheme-

Step 2: Click on ‘Downloads’ and then click on ‘JVD Fee Reimbursement Proforma’.
Step 3: Take a printout of the application proforma.
Step 4: Fill in all the mandatory fields and attach the necessary self-attested documents.
Step 5: After filling out the application form, submit it to the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) of your respective district.
