Disbursement of the Loan Amount

The process of disbursement of the loan may vary from bank to bank. The central bank has its own way of disbursement of the amount of the loan. 

  • The amount of the loan is directly paid to the university/hostel/mess/airlines, etc.
  • Satisfactory evidence is required for disbursement to borrowers.
  • Original receipts have to be submitted for disbursement.

Repayment of Loan

The repayment of a loan also varies from bank to bank. Generally, all the registered banks on the Vidya Lakshmi portal offer a moratorium period which means the repayment period starts after the completion of the course. The repayment

  • For the loan amount up to Rs.7.50 lac, a maximum of 120 instalments.
  • For the loan amount above Rs.7.50 lac, a maximum of 180 instalments
  • Simple interest is charged during the study period.
  • Repayment of the loan is done in equated monthly instalments.
  • EMIs of over a maximum period of 15 years after the moratorium period.

How to Apply Online for Vidya Lakshmi portal Central Bank of India Education Loan

The student can apply for the Cent Vidyarthi scheme in both modes, online as well as offline. The steps to apply for an online loan process are as follows

  • Navigate to the home page of the portal.
  • Create a username and password.
  • Confirm the email address with the help of the registration email received on your email ID.
  • Enter your required details and log in.
  • Select the ‘student login’ option on the login screen.
  • The login session will be for a duration of 10 minutes only.
