The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) and ETS TOEFL have teamed up to offer the ‘UK-India TOEFL Scholarship’.Through this, Indian students will get the opportunity to pursue higher education in the UK. The UK-India TOEFL scholarship is valued at INR 60 Lakh.
The scholarship will provide financial support for 25 Indian scholars to pursue higher education in UK Institutions. Each selected candidate will receive a scholarship worth Rs 2.4 lakh, and the total value of the scholarships is US$75,000 (approx. Rs 60 lakh). The funds will cover expenses such as tuition fees, books, housing deposits, and transportation.
The UK-India TOEFL Scholarship Benefits
A panel of NISAU, UK university representatives, and industry bodies will select the scholarship winners. The application deadline for Indian students is 31st May 2023. Successful applicants will be notified on 5th July 2023. To be eligible for the UK-India TOEFL scholarship a candidate must meet the following criteria:
- An offer letter from a UK university.
- Enrolling first time at a UK university.
- Minimum TOEFL score of 75 out of 120.
- Intended to study on a fee-paying Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught degree course.
Furthermore, Students will need a TOEFL test scorecard, a 500-word essay on “Creating a Social Impact with a UK-based Education” and Personal and academic achievements. There will be three steps to access the applications for the scholarship.
- First: The first thing is to check whether the applicant is eligible for the scholarship. The authorities will also if the applicant has submitted all the required documents.
- Second: The next step includes assessing the essay submitted by the applicant. Besides this, the officials will check the personal and academic credentials of the applicant.
- Third: Finally, ETS India will select a maximum of 25 applicants and notify them accordingly.
Successful students will receive a one-time payment of $3,000 (INR 2,45,310) to their registered bank accounts. The amount will be received within 60 days after ETS India receives a copy of the signed Notice of Acceptance/Offer.
