- Always check the exchange rate properly before exchanging currency as it keeps changing rapidly
- Try to negotiate the transaction fee or the transfer fee with the bank and try to get the best deal
- Exchange rates can fluctuate throughout the day, so it’s essential to know the rate you’re getting compared to the market rate
- Avoid exchanging currency frequently as it might be more cost-effective to exchange larger amounts at once to minimise fees
- If you know you’ll need foreign currency for an upcoming trip or transaction, plan ahead and exchange your money in advance. Rushing to exchange currency at the last minute might result in unfavourable rates or additional fees

Chase Bank exchange rate was .08 higher than the actual rate for euros. $1 at €1.15. “No other added cost.” I asked why so high and they said it was the rate. No way! I think this is purposely a deceptive business practice and IS A HIDDEN FEE! I was in need for the euros so I didn’t have time to go elsewhere. Is there any recourse? Any complaint that can be made somewhere?
